Hi Everyone

I am new here and joined only yesterday.

My collecting interests are Canada, Belgium, Germany, GB, Iceland, Greenland, US airmails only and Hawaii. As well as these countries, I collect the martial arts on stamps plus the postal history of Muskoka / Parry Sound districts of the province of Ontario, Canada. One of my main interests is military mail of Canada.

I might add that the name "Bujutsu" literally means 'martial arts' and I instruct Tao Zen Chuan karate and also decided to add that topic in my collecting themes.

I am hoping to meet other members in here and I am always happy to help out wherever I can.

Parry Sound, eh? I'm originally from North Bay, but lived in Ottawa most of my life.

Thank you very much for the welcomes.

Just to clarify, I do not live in Parry Sound. I collect the postal history / postcards of the Muskoka / Parry Sound districts and live in the town of Bracebridge which is approximately 55 miles (90KM) east of Parry Sound.

To give you an idea what I collect, you can see by going to our website at www.waome.ca and you will see some images in there. I have to update the website but it will give you all a good idea.

I hope to make a lot of friends in here and will try to answer any questions if I can.

I use the word "Chimo" for signing off which is literally aboriginal Indian language meaning 'friend' or 'are you a friend' depending on the context.

Nice web site. Enjoyed reading the history. My great great grandparents came from near Gaspe Bay, I was told somewhere near Nova Scotia? Anyway, welcome aboard. The people here are friendly and VERY KNOWLEDGABLE!!

Regarding the stamp and cancel you have scanned, I am not certain if it is Parry Sound or Owen Sound. Unfortuntately, I cannot see the first initial of the first name :(

Parry Sound was early using CDS cancellation though, so, you have a 50/50 chance <G>

Bujutsu, I was actually hoping you had a cancel of Parry Sound (or Owen Sound) for me to compare the location of the word Sound in the cancel to. That would perhaps narrow it down to one or the other. I continue my search.

I will look at your web site nd see if there are any there.

When I get the hang of it to scan in images, I will include a CDS cancellation of Parry Sound. None will be in my website at present as it is just Muskoka for the time being.
