Not sure about your scanner, with mine, I first do a "preview" which will show you the entire scan surface. Then I use the select tool to draw a box around the part of the image I really want and click "scan"

My final output includes only the stamp/cover and not the white space surrounding it.

If you already know all this, I don't mean to insult your intelligence. Just trying to help.

Thanks Kirk and Rod, I will definitely preview before future scans..up to this time my scanner had adjusting the size...as I think I mentioned with my old XP computer and flatbed scanner I was able to send e mails and scans to internet sites and now I have to play around again to get them all in synch !

A tip that may or may not be of help later,
I attach a sheet of black craft paper, to the inside lid of the scanner with blu-tac
when you then scan stamps they always have a black background to hilite the perfs.
