the fifth stamp H.Wight boots 1cent is very interesting, it looks like my boots way back 1980's with strong leather laces over the metal hooks along the shin.

great looking stamps rev

How does one start collecting those stamps and where does one start looking around for those?

The Wight stamp is from the late 1870's. Their are a few verities of them in 3 denominations 1, 2, 5, cent. Very few are used today. Best place is in bulk lots of of BOB material. Depending on the country your in many old records have Royalty Stamps on them. I have about 100-150 of them. Some are fairly common. Like the Wight(100+ known). Some others are very rare only 1 or 2 are known.

Being an unashamed Cinderella collector and revenue desirer,
I have experienced this stange phenomenon.
Whilst you stick your bidding card up for a Hutt River,
or brightly coloured labels of the British Postal strike,
you sometimes can hear a faint snigger from the audience.

People give you a wide berth, then as people know you are a
"cinderella collector"
Oftentimes they sidle up later and mention,
"Psst Look, I have a small collection of Cinderellas in the back of book, would you like to see them?"

We "Cinders" collectors need to come out of the closet

Join the revolution!

It's even better when you go to a show and spend a few dollars on a Cindy. then turn around and sell it for several hundred dollars to the dealer next to them! I've done that a few times.

Wow, I didn't know they had patent stamps! Make some sense, though. You'd think there would be more of them out and about.

Seeing as we have a lot of new members since this was originally posted I thought I would give this one a bump as well.

If anyone has any License or Royalty Stamps to trade/sell or would like to swap info. Let me know!

Old thread I know, but the second stamp, the PLUMER'S Patent Boot, 2c, 1861, how common is it? I can purchase this one for 5 dollars, just want to know the rarity of it. Can find no real info on it.
