Publicity stamp issued between 1924 and 1925.
Because it was imperforate between the label and 'stamp' it
was not valid on mail outside Italy or its dependencies.

The 15c 'Columbia' is one of the slightly less common stamps of this type, cataloguing at 60 euro in my 2008 Sassone. However, even treated to remove the brown stains the wavy-line postmark would reduce this value.

What a great little collection they would make.
Not too sure about the colours though.....I think they could have done better.
Eraly GB Booklets had advertsing labels attached but they were seperated by perforations.
Nice, I like them.

Londonbus1.....inspite of the colours !

Interesting point you bring up there LB, the traditional "slate" for the
reserved colours of the king, and (I guess then) the garish bright blue
of publicity. They kinda look out of place together for an early emmission.
well spotted.

Very interesting. Maybe the USPS should consider advertising tabs

I just saw the cover of Linn's -- $297 Million Loss in 1st Quarter

Lucky Devil

The Auction tab, stated "May respond well to ERNI A&B"
I since have learned this is a mildew remover by Lindners
If I manage to secure some, and use it on the stamp,
I'll post the results when it comes out of the stamp press.

You can thank a "Tony" from rcsd for the info,
it was my first understanding of this restriction myself

I'm really sorry, I've posted the link without review the rules.
The links I posted, anyway, are not to commercial pages. One is a free italian catalogue and another is a Collectors Forum like this.

Apologies.

Thanks for showing those Rod! Those stamps can be considered the forerunners of the modern Personalized Stamps - I will have to find some.
