I remember when I was working in Toronto, (Ontario, Canada) from 2006 to 2009 there were at least 2 stores that were near and within walking distance. Flash forward to 2009 and both closed (or moved). One was on Adeladie Street which moved somewhere I am not quite sure and the other was in a strip mall that was sold by the owner of the mall and they had to close down as well.

Now I am returning back to toronto this week so I was wondering where exactly are the new stamp stores? Google for me hasn't turned up anything.

Hi Katchem

Ted Wright moved around 2008 and is located on Danforth Avenue now.

I think you are aware that Ted also took over George Weggs business after his demise. If I remember correctly, it was the Wegg business that moved to Danforth.

His present address is:

George Wegg (Ted Wright), Hollywood Canteen Bldg., 1516 Danforth Avenue.

I also remember in my later teens and early 20s going down to Toronto with a friend of mine and going there on occasion and also going into Charmichael's Stamp Shop in the subway. At the moment, I cannot remember the exact location, I am thinking of Bloor and Yonge but could be wrong. We used to go through their penny boxes and find some real good buys there.

Also, I believe that John Talman also still operates a store there. Can't think of his address either but you can look him up on Google plus, that is his ID in ebay as well.

Hope this helps

Cheers

I also remember Empire and Grey Stamp companies.

These two companies were located right beside each other.

Thanks for the info. Danforth is a little out of my way but still good to know.
