I am tired of blindly trading and getting duplicates. I want to start trading by want list. Is this an acceptable way. Make an excel spreadsheet of stamps by Scott # that I have for trade. Email spreadsheet to other trader. The other trader can delete the ones not wanted and email spreadsheet back to me.
why not start trading for a country you dont have. that will be more fun and you wont have to worry about duplicates. I collect usa and india but thanks to the forum I have a good collection of russian and canadian stamps :)
If you use email, then why not simply switch images of what you both have and make notes (like red X on top of stamps you want) on images? That's what I (and my trading partners) have been doing for a long time...
And if you want to display those images to multiple trading partners, you can vary the mark for each (like x,y,z etc) or use some other method to keep track of.
I think want list trading is great. I do it with a couple of people off and on and it works just fine as long as your don't get too uptight about one or the other of you being "ahead."
More than happy to trade by want list if possible. If you would like ironhelm send a copy of your want list and I will forward the same. My lists are not on excel but generic word lists.
