My thanks to the genius who mentioned using a little lighter fluid on the back of the envelope paper to remove a self stick stamp..its Perf ect !! comes off with the glue intact !!

I think it depends on the stamp. I don't think it works in all cases depending on the type of glue. I believe I read that right on this forum.

I like it. It tried it on the TV land issue and a single from the Kelp Bed sheets and it worked nicely and quite effortlessly. I may try it on some more to see if its dependable. The downside is that it does leave the glue on the back. Does anyone have an antidote for that besides the talcum powder approach?

To remove the residual adhesive cleanly, you can try dipping a Q-tip in lighter fluid and slowly rub the adhesive off. Some collectors use a cloth/towel, but you have to be careful not to accidentally catch a perf rubbing with the cloth/towel. Those who have tried, seem to prefer the Q-tip over the cloth/towel.
