My objection was to the thread's content, which, beyond the first post, did not apply to stamps or stamp collecting. The original post mentioned stamps in the first paragraph, the global warming fraud is the topic of the second paragraph, and the third paragraph was, while humorous, about the resulting economic decline. The next few posts only barely mentioned stamps, if at all.

The main topics of other posts are also marginally about stamps (inadvertent pun).

BTW, the Greenland stamp reads "sled patrol." Notice the emblem which reads "SIRIUS". This stamp depicts dog sled patrols run by the Danish Naval Command during the cold war in order to patrol uninhabited regions of Greenland. The stamp shows Danish soldiers, not natives.

You can read about it here:

"Kalatdit-nunat" means "Land of the People" in Kalaallisut, an Eskimo language spoken in Greenland.

D-

Thanks for the information on that sled-dog stamp. Neat bit of history. I didn't pay enough attention the first time to note that it is a Slania engraving. It is pretty spare...it does a nice job of conveying the desolation.

I wasn't going for accuracy, I was using the stamp as a prop for satire. But thanks for the information.

Today was the first day that felt like spring was definitely in the air, and even though much of the water is still frozen over, you could actually imagine this...

Soon, I keep telling myself, soon...

Sadly Spock, whomsoever has been leaking my fiscal status,
has been digging around in the wrong dumpster.
Ergo, I shall be unable to accept your generous offer.
May I take this opportunity to wish God speed in securing a suitable candidate.

I keep looking at the name of this thread as the sweat for the last to many days is pouring out of us all here! The humidity I doubt has not gone under 75%. I handle 6 or so stamps and have to dry my hands and anything else that drips while others are living in the freezer! That is the sub-tropics! It has been a stinker this year! What is snow? KGV
