Hi Tina

You should find those stamps either under French Morocco or French Offices in Africa.

Cheers

French Morocco is correct. The one on the right is older, from the 1911 series; I think it is #27. The one on the left looks to be #43. Both are above catalog minimum, but not by a lot. They're probably going to be interesting to someone who is looking at the cancels, but I don't think cancels from Casablanca or Tangiers are that uncommon.

I would go out on a limb and say that if there is value here, it will be to a specialist, for some arcane reason.

My 2 centimes.

Tina-

Here are a couple of my favorite French Moroccos, including a pretty good Casablanca strike, and French Morocco #1:

A beautiful design by Olivier Merson,
Marianne (I presume) with Phrygian cap, looking circumspect outward to the future, Olive tree at her feet, yet the sword of justice across her lap.
Example with "nibbled perfs"
"and look to others, even to the ripped and torn; they too have their story.

I just watched Humphrey Bogart's 'Casablanca' last year for the first time. What a great movie.

I just love your paraphrase from 'Desiderata' by Max Ehrman,
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Excellent for stamps.

It could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship

Watch the Maltese Falcon next -- Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre, Mary Astor, ... all excellent.
