Hello Everyone,

I was going thru my German covers today looking for a certain German postmark and discovered this re-directed piece. I don't know how many times I've glanced at this cover and never noticed the U.S. postmark on the front along with the German postmarked stamps too.

Is there any members here that collect re-directed covers that would know what something like this is worth? I would appreciate any info.

Thanks for letting me share my scan of this cover(I think is pretty interesting) and I would love to see scans of other re-directed covers that anyone else might have.

Kathy

Hello Kathy.....

Welcome to the club.

I did a quick ebay search and found a few.......seems that values have quite a range. Not real sure how to judge value except to start with the value of the stamps.......I would think that a cover from the 1960's would not be worth that much, but I could be wrong.

Thank you very much nr-notrare for taking the time to look around for examples and post links to what you found. I appreciate it. What do you like to collect?

Hi Kathy......

I collect a bit of everything.......my focus lately has been on the variety of papers that have been used for stamps....the taggant varieties....PNC's....the early imperfs and worldwide postal history covers.

Several side collections keep me busy......the main one is to try and acquire a cover from everywhere......so far I have about 120 or so.......I also like registered covers from anywhere.

I'm curious about your collection too......have you been at it long ?

Well nr-notrare, if you are trying to collect a cover from everywhere I'm sure I can help you out. I have close to 1000 stamped covers from over 90 Countries which when you do the math it figures out to be an average of 10 covers (+or-) per Country. Why don't you let me donate a couple of covers to your collection? Let me know some Countries you need okay.
