A while ago an in-law passed me a couple of boxes which contained a very old, and very patchy stamp collection. I did the usual - a quick look through to see if there was anything that fitted my collection (there wasn't), if there were any penny blacks (there weren't), and to work out what to do.

I split it into about 15 auctions, and was still left over with a lot of English and Australian kiloware. The latter sold on ebay, but for some reason the former hasn't, despite being listed a couple of times at £0.99 starting with postage at cost.

To cut a long story short - too late, I know - it's taking up space, I've got no need for it (my collections are very specific), and it will be best served by being with someone other than me. I'm therefore offering it free to whoever would like to pay the postage for it from the UK to wherever they happen to be, as my way of thanking the community for the help and information that they've given me over the past few weeks.

From memory (I'm about 400 miles away from it at the moment) it's about 5 kilos. I'd say it's 40% commemoratives, 60% defins, with a fair few high value castles. 50/50 on paper / off paper, but please don't hold me to any of those figures.

There's a picture below with a mobile phone (an HTC Hero, in case you were wondering) shown for scale. The phone is 11.2 cm long, to give you a better idea of size, and is not included in this giveaway...funnily enough.

So, first person to say they want it gets it. I'll find out postage costs on Monday, and if the postage is too much for you then you're free to turn it down at that stage and I'll reopen it.

Thanks, and thanks to all those who have offered help and advice to me over the past few weeks.

GS

I would happy take the GB kiloware from you, if still available. I'm mostly through a 7 pound lot I bought a while ago. Time to fill the bath tub again, I suppose.

Just let me know the postage costs. I'm in the US in South Carolina.

LD - no problem. Will get a price and post back here (so LB can see as well) on Monday.

Londonbus - nope, I don't really go to shows...unless you count Les Mis!

Ooops - big mistake on my part, for which apologies. It turns out it's not a whopping 5 kilo load, it's closer to, erm, 420 grammes! My memory must have been playing havoc with me!

Anyway, it's still got a fair number of high value castles, so if you'd still like it then airmail to the US would be £6.03, surface mail £3.06. Let me know - apologies for the overstatement!
