Hi Jason,

Welcome to the Stamp Community. Great to have you here.
We have a few other Aussies here, where are you located.

As far as sorting out your stamps goes, I would start by sorting them in to different countries first. Then go to your local library and borrow a stamp catalog, either Stanley Gibbons or Scott's. These catalogs will give you the year, catalog number and value. Any that you have problems with, you can post pics here, someone should be able to help you.

Enjoy and have fun.

Steve

Your probably not far from Bigfella, one of our members from the Coin Community. He is a dealer in coins and Stamps. I'm sure he would help you too, if you called into his shop.

Hi again Jason, the light green stamp is Austria scott # 146 from 1916-1918..the Emperor Franz Joseph..my mothers father..my beloved Grandfather served in the Austrian army 1914-1918..not by choice he I am sure would have preferred to stay home and push cheese into round molds..but if you came from a certain province you were in a certain regiment and thats it...we were ethnic Italians but Northern Italy was part of the Austria Hungary empire..its jusst as well the Italians won..but at a terrible cost in casualties..probably similar to our civil war..i can not imagind Venice being in Austria..i ramble on sometimes but I love history !!
