I've wasted quite a bit of time saving photos off of ebay auctions I bid on after they started making them harder to save.

I've been using the Firefox function to turn off page styles in order to be able to right click and save. (View|Page Style|No Page Style) This solution often ended up saving the smaller photo and not the enlarged photo...maybe I wasn't doing everything in exactly the right order.

Anyway, I decided to look for a better way, and I came across a Firefox add-on called "Save Enlarged Picture" and it seems to work pretty well. So far, it has proved to be stable. Now, when I click on a picture to enlarge it, I can save the enlarged picture in one quick process.

Here is a link, for anyone who wants to look at it further:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fi.../addon/13802

Obviously, do your own research to get a comfort level with it before installing. I'm not much of a techie, so I can offer almost zero tech support.

Collin

With Internet Explorer, I can save all large images from ebay or elsewhere without problem.
The only problem is, most 'enlarged' scans on ebay are the same size as the original !!
This is one of my biggest beefs with ebay....the large scans are awful-ly not large.

Londonbus1.....right click, right click, right click.....

That's interesting...I assumed it was some sort of javascript protection that would be independent of the browser being used...

Oh, well...can't bring myself to use IE, so at least I have a solution instead of a cumbersome workaround now...

Until I've had a few transactions with a seller I keep a copy of the item photos for reference. Maybe it is harder for a seller to get rid of a picture under the current system, but I was once stung with an item I received that bore only a passing resemblance to the photo, except that the photo was gone by then.
