It's the age Philb, the age !

Just list those Cinderellas for sale and you will feel much better !
Chatting here will always prove more rewarding than any of the other alternatives.....no kidding !

Before I discovered computers and Internet stamp groups my collection was well organized. I traded with folk by letter and not by emails. My drawers [the wooden variety] were neat and tidy and my duplicates were easy to find.

Now I am in a mess, I have more duplicates than I know what to do with; my drawers are full of untouched glassines full of stamps I've never even looked at; and when someone asks me if I have this [or that], it takes me an age to find it.

But it's much more fun !

For those amongst us who remember telex machines and roneos, life was so much easier until these pesky boxes came along.

Life was calmer. If someone said they were going to post something to you, you would be delighted if it arrived in three days. Now, supposedly with progress, if the email isn't in your inbox in three seconds, it's reason to have a blood-pressure-induced hissy fit.

Kirk, my rule for winning is to build as big a collection as I can and then selling it off before dying.

Todays the first day of the rest of my life...i am going to begin getting rid of the total junk...the semi junk is a lot harder to part with...no one would enjoy going through another accumulation more than I ..but in conscience I can not do it with a basement thats difficult to navigate due to piled high plastic boxes of stamp stuff and injured albums..they have to go to recycling..the pages anyway....

Actually, I thought I was the only one lol.

I too belong to so many groups and societies and I still keep finding new interests in spite of the fact that I have down-sized my collection. I think it is the nature of the beast.

I also think the day we no longer want to do anything new is the day we call it quits :(

My opinion of course.

No not unique Phil your just trying to keep a finger in all the pie's at the same time and yes you never have enough of this hobby, maybe there is a solution and that would be to post every thing on eBay/stampoffers to sell, that's if you can figure out what you want to sell and there lays the problem what do you want to keep and what to sell .
My problem is I can't throw away any of my most recent mail covers and this has been going on for years what a collection I have now .
