Cool! Does anyone have a postcard of a Street Car RPO? That would look good on the same page with the cover.

Great postmark! Thanks for posting.
I'd like to add that image to my travelling post office marks,
"Ambulante" etc.
I have never seen your type before.

Turkey: travelling post office.

I don't know about a postcard, but here's a picture of a streetcar used for such purposes in Elgin, IL.

A tiny bit of trivia for anyone who might have thought the topic title was misspelled.

Pittsburgh didn't have an "h" at the end of its name for approximately 20 years, from 1890 to 1911. You can find examples preceding that time frame without the "h" and you can find examples during that time frame with the "h" but the federal government's official position was "no h."

By the time Bureau precancels came about, the spelling consistently included the final H. But there are some Town & Type precancels out there that are old enough to be missing the final H. Type L-3 E is common enough that I was able to come across one in the piles of random precancels I like to buy. The other two are a bit more scarce, I doubt I'll have any of those.
