Ah boy, I messed up the forgery of that stamp. There are 14 stars instead of 13. I'll have to burn my hard work to keep warm.
(I am guessing that the stamp is Scott #32?) |

I'm looking at the stamp, perhaps incorrectly!, the perfs are off too.
top bumps = 12 bottom = 10 left side = 14 right side = 16
So with the 14 stars the numbers are all even.
That #32 stamp was issued in 1857-61 so if this picture is in the 40's or 50's it is 200 years gone by. The cold war era too.
I like it complicated, sorry.

Is that a US airmail sticker? or some other country? Kind of looks right for US but I don't have many etiquette stickers. The spy who came in from the cold, a spy novel I think. John LeCarre?? tell me tell me I can't stnd it!! |

Quote: Is that a US airmail sticker? I am afraid not, Puzzler, It is a "private stationers" airmail etiquette used on stationery around the globe, and not attributable to any country in particular. |

OK, a riddle eh? Hmmm.
Even numbers, mistakes on the stamp,
Maybe it starts with 'Even mistakes . . .' or 'Even errors . . .'
Winter time or snowing anyway and dressed for the cold or just came in from the cold and warming up . . .
Or teh pen is mightier than the sword type of thing . . . So,Even mistakes can be illuminated by the pen ??? The stamp is lighted up by the lamp shade tilted towards it on the pen stand.
The fount of knowledge? light? wisdom?
Time for bed!! Someone solve this so I don't dream about it. Thanks.
