'orbis Pictus' Honored By Czech Republic

The Czech Republic has released a stamp honoring the first picture dictionary and encyclopedia for children.

Known as the Orbis Pictus (World in Pictures) by Jan Amos Komenský (1592-1670), it was published in 1658 in Nürnberg, Germany in Latin and German, and quickly spread to other countries.
