How do you all store everything you have for stamping? I live in a small apartment and have stamp stuff everywhere. I love organization, but can't be obtained it seems. I also like it to be portable so I can take to work (paramedic supervisor) and play with my hobby during down times.
Lastly, anyway to keep hinges from curling worse that the US team? I put some rice in the packet in hopes it would absorb the moisture, but not working well.

Hi Jay,
As someone that is getting back into stamp collecting, after many years gone by, I'm finding that I am running into the same problem. As I am going along with it all and I live in a small apartment also, I am seriously trying not to get to spread out.

I do remember having a file box, shoe box sized, and stock books to keep things somewhat in order. I also had a lot of glassine envelopes. What I usually did was that after I had a stamp or stamps cataloged or referenced, that I had pulled from my stock book, I would put it back in the box if I wasn't ready to put it away in my album. I would have the box set up in alphabetical order so I could just go for the country that I was working on when I was ready to put tem away in the album.

I had another smaller box I just threw all my smaller supplies in, like the package of hinges, strips of mounts, tongs, and the like just to keep things within reach.

I hope this might help to give you an idea for something as a base to work with.

Donna

Hello JayR101! We store all our stuff in large plastic tubs on wheels and use silica-gel bags for moisture problems. To this we have a number of sheets of ply wood that are 4 feet x 2 feet so we can make large work areas by stacking the tubs and suspending the ply between them. Our dinning area is a stamp factory at the minuet and there is no room for formal meals but it can be pulled apart very quickly if need be. Our postage, small stamping stuff and stamps in working progress are in small plastic tubs. It works for us! John and Family!

I keep my stamp supplies: hinges, mounts, tongs, magnifiers, cutting blades, scissors, water fluid tray, etc. in a clear hand held plastic storage box. Think of a pencil box for school supplies. I keep my albums, binders, stockbooks, cover boxes on a small bookcase. I am not sure how to help you with moisture problems and your hinges. Good luck with organizing your collection.
