I couldn't resist this for 25c this morning,
it fills a gaping gap, but what about the colour?
Is this the 1939 dark blue fellow?

Cancelled January 4th 1954 which is very, very late

Or is he weathered beyond revival?

Yup he is the dark blue fellow, the bright blue is considerably lighter.

I love these high value defins! I remember there was a story behind why they printed the 2s6 in two completely different colours - I'll see if I can fish it out somewhere.
