I use postcards on my title pages for my albums... here are three I picked-up, to-day, for my U.S. collection:

Here's one... the heck with the rest... I keep compressing 300 dpi scans of simple postcards and this 100 kb size is killing me!!

I'm off this board.

David

But seriously...if you want to scan some of my stuff then we can get it posted here.

When's good for coffee?

Can't believe I didn't notice that you left over this until now.

David I don't know how you're editing your images, but 100K is absolutely way more than enough for postcards, stamps, coins, or pretty much anything else. Have a look at this 99K image I just uploaded....

Tel me what kind of editing software your using and I'd be glad to help you.

David, it sounds as if you are trying to upload directly to here. Photobucket and other free hosting sites are available so you don't have to worry about compressing file sizes. This Patriotic PC and all others I scan at either 1000 dpi or 1200 dpi

That's perfectly acceptable, but not needed though. Like I said 100K is plenty big enough. The photo I posted above is under 100K, 1,000 pixels across, and shows all detail very nicely.

Look at this extreme close up of a Morgan dollar........

95K... But for some reason most people think you need a 4MB image to do stuff like this, I don't understand.
