i picked this up at flea market # 2 on the Cape Saturday..i listed it on ebay..it says feldpost on the back and has a written message but does not look like its been through the mail !

Thanks Philb, Very nice. It probably went through the mail, but they didn't have access to someone with a handstamper. It look like the name of the town is before the 1916 date (January 27?). It would be interesting to know what was happening at that location around that date. I have some cards myself from WWI and WWI marked feldpost without postmarks so it probably happened quite a bit when they didn't have access to proper postal facilities.
