I added no material around the edges, except a fix to the lower right corner to help the eye out. This is close-trimmed...

Makes for a nice variation in the presentation, don't you think? I may have to trim a few of mine.

C.

Cjd, trim the top just a little bit more, as I can still see 3-5 divots at the top near the left.

Just like the Amish, I leave a few imperfections in my handiwork.

Second I am not an expert stamp guy in case you couldnt tell, I didnt realize all these things that rod222 listed. I do however take great photos and I thought I pointed out that you cant list good photos or at least any that I take. Apparently I am not too bright, couple that with seeing my first stamp with a collector/sellers eyes 9 months ago and what do you have... a dumb posting hahaha

Dumb posting? NEVER! It was a great posting and put many keen collectors researching, just what we love to do - I enjoyed this thread greatly, especially since I collect South Pacific. THANKS FOR POSTING IT!

No need to apologize for this topic. It was an interesting puzzle. And we still haven't answered the underlying question; we've only put forth one possible (albeit likely) explanation.

And I'm not someone who says, "There's no such thing as a dumb topic." Clearly, some of them sometimes are. Some of mine, included.

Whenever you (anyone) asks a question,
you leave yourself open for misinterpretation,
and return opinion. The truth can sometimes be awkward,
that is certainly not a reflection on the poster.
The more questions you ask, the more that may happen
If you look at your post, you can see we all learnt something.

An important query you post raises, is how the image
broke down, on your reduction to under 90k.
Look forward to your next post

Yes, indeed: good fun, and good exercise for the brain

It does go to reinforce the stamp-collecting rule I always try to keep in mind: Rare stamps are rare because they're rare. The chances that I've stumbled on one are small in proportion to the rarity of the stamp
