I don't want to be a party-pooper, well, alright, yes I do: the 'T' is just due to broken type. Gibbons notes the existence of such things, but doesn't list them.

Here are a couple more from Patiala:

I don't know what rate this might have been paying, but it just might conceivably have been a genuine commercial use:



The 3 rulers: SG 22, SG 39 and SG 64

And this block, which someone else has separated and stuck back together clumsily with hinges:

you had to look at the stamps and not gibbons CJD :)

but the rod has got it.


It is the short T variety in patiala.

I can see the stamp...I also know not to trust what I see when it comes to British India overprints. Apparently, any number of people have read Printing Press Fun for Dummies over the years.

I understand that Gibbons doesn't know everything, but it is the first (easy) place to look...

spock, if you mean post-Empire India, you'll have to keep working on conversion. But I've been a fan of British India for a long time.
