I thought I'd identified this stamp as being issued by Austria for use in its Turkish POs. However, looking up SG online (the no-subscription version with no images), I find the 25 soldi (SG6) is listed as "Lilac". This stamp is obviously not lilac I can't seem to find it anywhere else. Would really appreciate some guidance, Thankyou

Hi stampgal,

You're right that it's a stamp from the Austro-Hungarian Post Offices in the Turkish Empire.

There are three stamps that are similar to this:

SG 6 deep purple - course whiskers (1867)

SG 6a grey-lilac - course whiskers (1867)

SG 13 grey-lilac - fine whiskers (1883)

I think your one is SG 13.

In 2002 the SG prices for unused were £17, £65 and 65p respectively.

Superfast reply, thankyou, Nigelc! Much appreciated
(Of course, of the three, mine WOULD be the 65p one...)
