I have a number of GB commemorative issues (1960s/70s some 80s) duplicated on First Day Covers and Presentation Packs. I only want to keep one set of each in my collection. I don't know which to choose. Differences - the covers are cancelled, and I generally collect used stamps, but the presentation packs take up less room. Can anyone argue one way or the other as to which set I should keep?

Sure. I like the presentation packs. So you should collect the FDCs and mail the presentation packs to me so that you will have more room for more FDCs.

Always think ahead!

Seriously, collect the one you spend the most time looking at.

That's a very good answer, thanks!
BUt then I was thinking - I don't really look at them at all much, I had a thought, take the mint stamps out of the presentation packs and put them in my album, that way I'd look at them more often. I could keep the original pack for the info. Is that sacrilige?

Whatever I decide, the remainders will go up for swap (when I am eligible) so someone from this site might get the pleasure of them.
