Gussyboy1Great soaking job, nice couple, I sent you, today, the Cary Grant stamp. When you come across the Audrey Hepburn stamp, you will have another nice couple. |

Yes, in deed. But I wasn't for sure if maybe Audrey and John Wayne would make a nicer couple! ha Here I am match making with stamps--hey ,that sounds like a gameshow to me! Or maybe a contest--"Guess which couple Gussyboy1 puts together now"! ha
BTW, thank you so much for sending that handsome fellow my way!

I still remember when the radio announced the death of James Dean..we were driving around at night which is what we teenagers did for socializing back in the 50's and the girls started to cry..oh my goodness !! |

That's up to you, Gussyboy, but Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn actually co-starred in a movie. It was Charade and it was about stamps!
Heard a couple of weeks ago that John Wayne is still America's favorite actor. And he's been dead some 30 years, I would guess. The Shootist, where he played a gunfighter dying of cancer while he was actually dying of cancer was my favorite, followed by Rio Bravo, from back when I was a kid. |

You're right modernwho. Cary and Audrey played in a few movies together--one about a princess sneaking out of the confines of her princess court and Cary Grant was a reporter that she fell in love with ,but she knew their love could never be! As for John Wayne--don't speak too loud about him not being much of an actor around my hubby! Them there's fighting words to him! ha John had the "way" about him--the cowboy way. When he teamed up with Maureen O'Hara, now that made movies that sold tickets! I, too, was only a wee babe when James Dean died but still today he is quite an ICON! |

"True Grit" was one of my favorite John Wayne movies. James Dean gave some great performances in "Rebel without a Cause", "East of Eden" and "Giant."
