Ok, I don't know much about anything yet. however I have one of these editions and I thought this was absurd. also I just got my ears boxed by this guy because I asked if he was serious about this price. Is this price even remotely accurate? its not that I want to buy it its because I just got verbally assaulted. and I want a little vindication. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...:RTQ:US:1123

It is an absolutely crazy price without showing ANY stamps. It will not get any bids unless images are supplied.
What do you mean "verbally insulted"? |

William J Jenack Estate Appraisers were asking $350 as starting bid in 2003. http://www.jenack.com/viewauction.a...=151&max=200 Hope this helps. IMO I would think they'd show more than just the spine if they had "goodies" worth that kind of ca'ching... "Item 169 SCOTT JUNIOR EDITION INTERNATIONAL: 1938 EDITION, STUFFED AND OVERFLOWING. LONG TIME COLLECTION APPEARS TO BE MAIL CLIPPINGS, PACKET AND APPROVAL MATERIAL, CORRESPONDENCE FOUND IN THE CONSIGNMENT DATES MOST ACTIVITY IN THE 1960'S. SOME PLEASANT SURPRISES: BERMUDA, S.C. 44-49 CAT. VAL. $65+, CANADA S.C. C-1 & 2 $50+ (KEYWORD - STAMPS; ESTIMATE 80-125)" |

Quote: It almost has every countries first stamp issue. If this statement is correct. Then Yes, it is possible! I live about 30min. away from this seller. So, if you are thinking of bidding, I could make an appt. to view it for you and give you the real lowdown on it. (I might even do it just for the hell of it!) |

If it really has $50K+ of sound stamps in it, then yes, it is a good deal. But I certainly wouldn't make that my first purchase from a seller.
The hype by the seller regarding this being a "one-of-a-kind" album, is needless to say, ridiculous. Scott International Juniors are plentiful.
Purchase should be made based on the quality of the stamps, not on how good of a used car salesman the seller can be. The album value is inconsequential if the stamp catalog value is truly $50K+. |

I send the guy a private message told him that I have one of those books which I do a pre 1940 bound cover edition, I got it for around $45 with stamps. I asked him if he was serious about that price that I thought it was crazy... he sent me 2 separate emails flailing me, verbally abusive and then preceded to tell me he had an offer of $2000, I didn't bother replying its waste of my time.

Edwin, I buy books like that loaded for 75 or 80 bucks....90 percent of of the catalog value is in common stamps that I can not sell...i take the salable ones and try to get 1/3 catalog for them...i hope no poor boob makes a terrible mistake and hits the bid key on trash like that... |

Just a note/Observation...I have several International Jr. Albums. The pages are fairly tight in the binder. When stuffed the pages do not sit quite that nicely, They Bulge! |

Quote: When stuffed the pages do not sit quite that nicely, They Bulge! Good point Rev. Those albums had stamps on BOTH sides of the pages, and of course stamps were usually mounted with slurped hinges, further warping the pages. |

Thanks guys, for the moral support. I'll keep my mouth closed on ebay I was one of those late night questions that you knew when you hit enter would come to no good... however as a seller he completely blew it with his answer. I would post his reply, however I think it would break most of the rules here :) Ed |
