Hi there. I just registered for the site and thought I'd introduce myself. My girlfriend and I just inherited an old stamp collection and mixed it with the surviving remnants of my collection from when I was a kid. I'm more of a coin collector, but it was a blast organizing all the stamps in our new stock book. Since then we've made a handful of purchases (her, "cute little buildings" stamps - me, "space!" stamps) and are really starting to enjoy our new hobby. Well that's it. We're looking forward to learning more about the hobby from all the knowledgeable collectors here. Thanks!

Hello SBS.........
Welcome to the club.....and back to the hobby. It's great to have a partner that collects too. Are your collections just US or do you include worldwide material also ? |

My hubby and I coin collect(small collection) and I came here from the coin forum and go back and forth depending on what's happening here or there! ha You will love it here! I am a new stamp collector also. My hubby is starting to become a bit interested in some of my stamps -IF I can get him away from his Liberty Walkers! ha I ask whatever stamp question is on my mind and have the expertise of the guys and gals here to help. We esp like photos/scans of your stamps--it helps us newbies learn. Again a hearty welcome to our family! We like to have FUN here, too! Gussyboy1 |

Hi guys, thanks for the warm reception.
Jason, we're in California.
t360, don't get your hopes up, I don't think there's any hidden gems in the collection. It's a mix of world and US stamps, with a large batch from Japan, late 50's, early 60's (her grandfather was stationed there in the navy). I'll try to post some of those ones soon.
Notrare, so far we've mostly been drawn to non-US stamps for our few purchases, but we do like to clip US stamps from the mail - I sure never realized how many of my letters didn't have stamps anymore until I started hoping for them. That's how it goes I suppose.
Thanks again for the welcome! |

Hello slowly but surely. I just joined myself. I came from CA to Wisconsin. I started collecting when I was a young boy. My Dad collected and he introduced me to the hobby. I started to organize the collection as a way to deal with cabin fever here and the long and at times bitter winters. |

Marcelo, I learned one thing real fast..if you want to get in the good graces of the group...they want to see pictures of some of your collection..other than that they are pretty tame ! |

Hello to all new members. I hope to get to know all of you. I myself am a new collector, unfortunately I have had to start from scrap instead of being able to get a jump start with a handed down collection. I have how ever found some nice additions. Hope to see you all around here quite abit.

I started from scratch also Cimmarron and so have a few others. I love to look for large lots at a bargain and have plenty of spares to share Dianne |
