okay guys, this is quite common, and I see this all the time. I am in the computer biz by profession. A "woman" will contact you out of the blue to be friends. How they get your email address is immaterial but they do use "spiders" to troll websites looking for email addressed because they can be 99% sure they are good ones. Anyone this person will send you photos, talk about her life and generally be pretty decent. Eventually, it will come to asking for money. Either to marry you, as single guys seem to fall for this crap over and over again, and do fall in love over the internet.. either it's a scam to get money out of you, it just makes a little longer, but once hooked they can get a lot of money from you. Just delete the emails and eventually they will stop when there is no reply. remember NEVER respond to emails with the "take me off your list" link. It just verifies your email address.
The only place I have posted my e-mail address was on a SCF donation thread started by myself. It was removed some time ago. I am not sure to where. I wonder if this would be it. Can anybody tell me if that information is still open? I have not mentioned SCF anywhere else. This e-mail went to my junk box with warnings on it.
A big thank you for all the comments it has helped my situation here a great deal.
I will get my wife to read the last 2 posts to see if we can do anything more. It is nice to have this information. Thanks to all!
