This is used..
nice color, no thins. average centering

is this worth a buy it now price of $140.00

looks like a brown cancel which adds 150.00 to the 2008 price of 500.00
question is it a brown cancel? is there a crease running acroos the face or is it just s scanner mark.

SV, the stamp is scanned whilst in a stock page
or Hagner sheet, the apparent crease and below
is the plastic mylar strip, holding the stamp in place.

It is not a brown cancel.

I concur with Rod, the line is nothing more than the edge of the strip on the stockpage.

The perfs aren't perfect, but look genuine. I have a concern regarding the upper right (marked in red below). It may be a smudge, a surface scrap, or a possible repair job. Do you have a pic of the back?

Also, I'm assuming the seller ID of 75 is correct. I can't differentiate between 75/76 based on a picture.

Nope, I'm not an US expert. I gave up long ago! I like IDing stamps without having to use a magnifier, perforation gauge, or watermark fluid.

I have to admit, I tend toward the suspicious side -- especially when it comes to stamps with a good premium. I've run into too many altered/repaired stamps. If it was $1, I wouldn't care. But $100+, I get really picky and would want to know some specifics from the seller.

Just my opinion. Regardless, it's a pretty stamp!

A query from the great unwashed....

What is a "brown cancel"?
Is that <really> "average centreing"
We don't seem to put such a premium on centreing in Australia
but I would have thought that was "badly centred"

Still, I agree a nice stamp, I'll certainly never own one.

Thanks.

The stamp is kind of off center looking to me, but I've seen worse.

I have asked for a back picture.
I also asked him why he thought it was a 75 and not a 76..
and about the smudge, scrape or repair..

a 76 is considerably cheaper then a 75.
Kim how do you tell the difference between a 75 and 76?
