Jason:

Those stamps, are from The German Democratic Republic, and are Officials issued in 1954.

The stamps were also issued 1954-1956, and were redrawn.

I cant tell from your scan, if your stamp is redrawn, so it is either a o-7, or a o-19, if its redrawn

Hi Jason

Isn't it fun I just received 10,000 stamps on monday and have been staying up late going through them. Haven't even put a dent in them yet.

Jason, as well as the arc of the compass projecting to the right, you will also notice the background behind the compass is made up with lines running vertical. In the earlier series the arc projected to the left and the background was made up tiny dots, almost appearing as a solid colour. This type of background change was used in a couple of series of German stamps of this era.

Hope you have some great finds, happy hunting.

Steve
