After 10 years of looking at stamps, I managed 10 from 16

How well can you do?

No. 1 was a bit sneaky, Young Rodney. The great State of Alwar, of course. And where's the Conch?

And I don't know if anyone else hopped on the bandwagon, but No.8 certainly belongs to the equally great State of Rajpipla.

Yay I got Mongolia!

I didn't think I'd got it right, when I went back to check the set I was thinking of, the design is slightly different. But who cares! I think these are very pretty stamps.

Maybe I am the winner, I got none. A total zip!

It looks like a psyche test to me!

Interesting! But I must of been away from school that day!

Ladies and gentlepersons...
All very well done, the teacher is pleased,
KG5 is excused because he is a specialist,
ask him about a shade or "line across penny"
or "a pimple on the nose" and he is a different animal.

Special note to revstampman who appears to have instant recall.

Number 6 the jury is still out, it is supposed to be Armenia but
I cannot find this icon in the 100 or so I own

It was highly biased in favour of the Indian primitives'
hence Tony MacBundi, did very well as we would expect.

I knew the dagger of Alwar, I could recall the bright shades but
the name just would not appear in my very grey matter.

Thanks to Stampgal who pulled the rabbit out of the bowler,
I am excused because I have never seen those Mongolian stamps before
in my very sad life.
(I always thought Mongolia had English script)

The "petal" icon of Korea I have never seen before either
(Number 9)

Thanks all for playing.

1.Alwar
2.South Korea
3.Manchuria
4.Japan
5.Bundi
6.Armenia Korea (Corea)
7. Turkey
8. Rajpipla...Raj who?
9.Korea
10. Japan
11.Azerbaican (sp?)
12.Nowanagur
13.China
14.China
15.Mongolia
16.North Korea

Does everone recall 13 as belonging to
Dr Sun Yat Sen Issues? I did.

Ahh yes the Conch, everyone knows, admires, and loves Travancore
hence it was considered "too easy"
