Looking for some information on this German air mail cover. I think the stamps represent the Hindenburg and other Air Post Stamps (Scott C46, C50, C51 and C52).

What I can't figure out is if this is just a plain cover or a first flight or something similar because of the red postmark, which I think translates "Germany Airmail - Europe to North America". Postmark date is difficult to read but I think it's stamped Berlin 05/05/1936. (It has a NY backstamp of 05/09 and 05/11/1936).

I'm hoping someone on SCF can help me research this faster than I could elsewhere.

Thanks.

Where did you get this cover from? Any return info on back?

The reverse side of the cover is pretty plain except for a NY backstamp:

Actually I have a second one of similar vintage but with only a single stamp and not registered:

I don't recall exactly where I got them other than that I have had them for years as they were given to me by friends who knew I collected stamps.

When you add a few more posts I'll email you as to why I am interested in where you got it from.
