Some of the stamps I have are hard to catalog. I can not see a grill.
Please help.

I usually check the back of the stamp for grill. I would call it a Scott # 147 if I don't see the grill. I would call it a Scott # 158 if the bottom ribbon is heavily shaded. Hope this helps.

George

Heres my guess #158 assuming that my observations of the scan of the stamp are accurate. If the secret marks are not as I observe off the scan......
Not 136 you state no grille, and appears to have secret shading at lower left ribbon.

Not 147 appears to have secret shading at lower left ribbon.

Maybe 158 appears to have secret shading mark at lower left ribbon and appears (bluish green)

Probably not 169 extreme rarity, special printing.

Maybe 184 appears to have secret shading mark at lower left ribbon.

Probably not 194 extreme rarity, special printing.

Not 207 does not appear to have secret horizontal dash under ts of cents

If you can verify the secret marks and then verify paper type hard or soft porous, white or very white, thin to medium thickness, wove or not grille or no grille, then verify color green, deep green, yellow green, dark yellow green, blue green, bluish green, light green, dark green or dark olive green,it's easy.

Thank you. I put it in the catalog as a 147 because of the shading.

Does anyone have all of these stamps except possibly a 169 to make a comparison?

It does appears to have secret shading at lower left ribbon so I changed it to #158. Looked at the backside still no grill.
I am not qualified to verify colors "Looks green to me" but that is about my limit. More reading for me.
Thank you Fred
