Is this a normal occurrence (i.e. Overprinted PA State Beverage Tax Stamp affixed to USIR Fermented Malt Liquor Stamp Series of 1933)? I have several examples of both stamps, but never saw them combined and cancelled as one item before.
Yes, it is fairly common. You also often find additional state stamps on federal Tobacco stamps. Strangely enough 90% of those I have seen are PA or Ohio. Very few from any other states.
Thanks for the info. Interesting that PA and OH would have the majority of these. Maybe other States had a different way of taxation (i.e. no State Tax Stamps to affix)?
