If . . .

You were looking to buy a cover with a GB Penny Red stamp on it, what would you look for, and what would you pay for it.

Our local dealer here has a couple, and as a cover collector I would love to have one. I am not looking for anything but a basic regular usage cover.

I also know next to nothing about British stamps and covers (except that I like alot of the classic ones).

Any advice oh sage ones?

You can filter out penny red covers or pieces only:

I recently got my first piece, I got it because the stamp has my initials.

Depending on the stock available, things that I would look for

(Not all in the one cover though :)

Nice full stamp, plate num visible reasonable postmark.
The cover has a letter enclosed
wax seal
monograms on letter or cover

I would pay $1 > $12 Australian.

Ron and Eunice Shanahan, members of this family,
specialise in pre stamp covers of GB, they may have
stock of the penny red from lots?
Their email addy is on here
