Hello,

Can someone please decipher the postmark? Where was it applied and the year? The stamp on the postcard is from Spanish Morocco.

Many thanks in advance
Davis

My Arabic is too rusty to decipher the postmark, but the date of 1910 fits with the stamp issue. Spanish Morocco stamps issued in Tangiers - like this one - were sometimes used in French Morocco, from what I understand, but don't know how common that was.

The Arabic on the postmark reads:

Wireless Telegraph
Dar Al-Baida (Arabic name of the city of Casablanca)

Morocco was divided into the French and Spanish protectorates in 1912.

Before that year, the stamps listed for one or the other protectorate were actually for Offices in Morocco. Scott unhelpfully includes the offices with the later protectorates.

Here, a Spanish office was in a city that later became part of French Morocco. I think France had offices in towns that later became Spanish.

Germany, Britain, the Moroccan sultan, and several private firms also ran postal services.
