Send a pic of any perforated sheet from 1880 to 1915 that has a corner stamp with two straight edges. One example disproves my theory. That's the scientific way.

Go to the Siegel website. Go to Auctions, then to Past Sales, type in sale 9049, take your pick of sheets. Quod Erat Demonstrandum.

Food for thought - Is it possible that the booklet stamps were sent early and told not to used until an y date and actually used before on date x ?

Impossible.
The first four booklet plates were assigned Feb. 24, 1900, certified on March 6, 1900 and went to press on March 7, 1900.
