Finished cataloging my Boston 2026 purchases. Next action is to place in appropriate albums. I did not have a perfect show, (although close). My mistake purchases were mostly FOREVER stamps, thus I can use for postage. It was a good show for me as I did acquire many high values (catalog) in great condition and for substantial discount versus catalog. |

Got a decent USB camera that is a digital microscope. It only views 1/4 of a Difinitives stamp, but I only need it to see flaws or printing types. Also got a UV light that does 365nm, 395nm, and 254nm, and it's bright!!! |

I started identifying some Sudan issues. I finally found a watermark that Sherlock revealed that Clarity and Ronsonol could not but I real finding watermarks is a skill. |

I have finally completed the letter S in my 1947 International Part I spreadsheet. My coverage for S is just over 59% which is far less than I had hoped. This finishes a more than rough pass at the spreadsheet. I sit at 70% coverage, 25013 spaces filled out of 35732. This includes the U.S. section and of course assumes I didn't miss anything. The only stamps I have not inventoried are my cut squares and revenues since I only recently received the pages that were missing from my album. I don't have too much in those areas, perhaps 100 or so spaces filled out of the 496 possible, but puts me comfortably over 25000 and 70%. Next question for me will be whether or not I try to drastically improve. The answer is likely no.
Edit: corrected 486 to be 496 |

Just took in a Israel collection. Probably 1000+ for 20. I will be needing those 3 high value ones. |

Israeli stamps have been a drug in the market for some time, and that's only likely to continue - if you want that stuff, the likelier price trend is downward. |

This showed up yesterday: Michel MH 34.1 exploded booklet, NH. This one isn't particularly rare but it proved difficult to acquire for a price I was willing to pay (~20% of catalog). I'm very pleased to add to it my collection!! Brian |

If your buying stamps at less than 20% of catalog ,you can stay away from a stamp auction in 2 days . On June 18 is another MIDDLE EAST stamp auction .
The last auction 8 years ago was a wake up call for me and was the first time my purchases started at 125% of catalog and watched a lot of bids and sales hit close to 200%. So my guess is in 2 days we are going to be up there again . |

I've never bought from any major auction houses, only ebay, KMP, and my local club auctions, not to mention private purchases from here and a few other sources. I'm certainly not going to find any great rarities using my 20% rule, but it nets me some really great stamps! Brian |

Brian ,it is the Kelleher 6-18-26 Essam Maasarani collection . The Egypt stamp should be the highlight with strong prices .
The auction that I posting about was a Egypt stamp auction , Sale prices went thru the roof and I ended up with a real strong back-of-the-Book plus a reference collection for Egypt postage dues . . 75% of all lots went overseas . |
