Czeslaw Slania Master Engraver

The 900th anniversary (1085–1985) of the famous Deed of Gift issued by King Canute IV of Denmark (Saint Canute the Holy).

The "Deed of Gift" was a royal donation document issued in 1085 to the church in Lund. It granted lands, income, and privileges to what later became Lund Cathedral. The document is extremely important historically because it is considered one of the oldest major written records from medieval Scandinavia.

The stamps were designed and engraved by Czeslaw Slania and issued by Sweden on May 21, 1985. Stamps feature Lund Cathedral and King Canute on horseback.

World Skating Championships, designed and engraved by Slania and issued by Sweden on February 18, 1966.

Mail Coach, oil painting 1928 by thr Swedish artist Eigil Schwab (1882-1952), engraved by Slania and issued by Sweden on September 28, 1971.

The WASA ship, engraved by Slania based on photographs and issued by Sweden on September 3, 1969. The stamps reproduce the WASA itself and five of the beautifully carved wooden sculptures recovered from the ship, highlighting the rich decorative art that once adorned this famous seventeenth-century warship.




Issued as a sheet of 10 stamps inside booklet. The booklet cover was designed by Jan Magnusson.

Children drawings, combined lithography and engraved by Slania and issued by the Faroe Islands on October 1, 1979 to publicize the International Year of the Child. Stamps have UNICEF logo.

Europa CEPT stamps, designed by Jane Muus, engraved by Czeslaw Slania and issued by Denmark on May 3, 1982. The title of Europa stamps in that year is Historic Events.

Abolition of the Stavnsband
The stamp was issued to commemorate the 1788 abolition of the Stavnsband, the Danish system that bound peasant men to the estates where they were born. The reform marked a major step toward personal freedom and the modernization of Danish agriculture.

Voting rights to women in 1915
The stamp was issued to commemorate the granting of women's suffrage in Denmark in 1915. The symbolic procession of women celebrates the constitutional reform that gave women the right to vote and stand for Parliament, marking a major advance in Danish democracy.
