Hello! I normally have such a hard time with the fine details/varieties of stamps & this one has me even more confused! I do believe I have it narrowed down to a 1920's Scott #599 or #599a. After that I am stumped... I've started seeing both types but I don't see how that would be the case! So any help will be GREATLY Appreciated!

Feel free to ask for any additional information or photos!

Thank you & have a wonderful day
~T404

My opinion is that this a scarcer line pair of the 599A(Left) / 599(Right). I see evidence of the left stamp having both the heavy outline of the left acanthis as well as the strong hair lines. Unfortunately, the left stamp is trimmed at bottom left, but the Scott catalog valuation for the 599A joint line pair with T.I and T.II is $1000 used!

Cheers.

I do not see that at all, both stamps are 599.

It is possible I am seeing more than what is actually there - the bottom left acanthus scroll edge is more prominent than for the T.I, but at the top left it is not significant. I DO see at least one strong hair line, but not two due to the cancel obstruction. So if it is a T.II, it is not a slam-dunk.
