That was my thought too, Bobby De La Rue, the Kembla Heights office opening on 1st February, 1892.

The interesting thing is that it precedes Hopson & Tobin's earliest known usage of this datestamp by 7 years!

Aussie Al,
That cancellation is for a travelling post office - it reads "TRAVELLING POST SOUTH N.S.W."
In his book 'The Postal History of New South Wales 1788-1901', John White classifies it as TPO-F, in use from 1879-1894.

The travelling post offices allowed mail to be sorted in-transit on the railway journeys.

This TPO South postmark is known used from 4 February 1879 to 2 October 1907. It was used as a backstamp up to 1884, and as a postmark thereafter.

See Peck's TPO book from 1983

That's a Sydney parcel post roller marking Al. Two varieties: date at top and date at bottom.
