Has anyone ordered on or off paper mixes from Court Philatelics in the UK before? They run an ad in the monthly issues of Linn's and I'm curious whether their mixes are thought to be worth the price in terms of variety and enjoyment.
Hello, A good number of years ago I did buy some kiloware from them. Very good then.
At the end of June 2026, I did purchase 1lb Australian Kiloware. The 1st lot got "lost" in the post so Ollie sent another load which arrived very quickly. Ollie was most helpful & gave good service. However the selection was a mixture over a good number of years NOT recent as expected. Perhaps I was also naiive to expect "unsorted" as what I got was very disappointing.
I did feedback to Court Philatelics to express my disappointment but to-date no response received from them. I did say I would not purchase kiloware from them or anyone else ever again. A complete waste of £20 in my mind.
My advice is: unless you are a complete beginner...AVOID at all costs. Save your money & go to a stamp fair which is what I will stick to in the future.
That is very unfortunate. I have ordered a number of mixes from them over the past several years and have not had a bad experience yet. That said, I have not tried any of their Australia mixes. My Australian collection is in a place where I would not consider kiloware worthwhile, so I cannot speak to the quality of the one you purchased.
My most recent purchase included 1 lb Channel Islands/IoM charity, 1 lb Asia charity, and 2lbs WW charity. I have not gone through the Asia mix yet, but was generally pleased with the others and would purchase more of the WW mix in the future.
I did buy a 2lb mix of Irish SOAR issues. I had worked through a 1 lb Ireland charity mix that had yielded 79 different SOAR issues. The 2lb mix only yielded another 69 different, which felt a bit underwhelming. Not sure I would buy another unless I decided to go deeper into those.
At the end of the day, kiloware isn't for everyone. It has worked for me, so I will continue using it.
