I'm relatively new to the hobby, so this may just be my inexperience showing, but I have never seen a green cancellation mark like this. I assume they are very rare - do you agree?

Yes, green cancels are quite rare and popular among those who collect them, The Scott Specialized catalog adds a $100 premium to that #65 stamp which is otherwise a common $3 CV stamp.

And a US #1 that Bradnod just posted a striking 4+ margin copy, Scott adds a $1250 premium for a genuine green postmark. Without a certificate, a green pen cancel doesn't add much of a premium since it can be so easily faked. Still pretty, even if not real.

Why would someone put a green MS. cancel on a stamp with a red grid already on it?
