I received this email from Scott Trepel overnight.

Quote:
I am writing this email while overlooking the Grumeti Reserve in the Serengeti in Tanzania. It is a breathtaking view.

Over the past week, I have seen the movement of many different animals in this beautiful part of the world, which sets the tone for this message.

As many of you know, Charles Shreve and I have worked together to make Siegel even better during the past 14 years. We have had many successful collaborations and exciting sales, including the record-setting Gross sales.

However, just like life in the Seregenti, things change. A few months ago, Charles and I both agreed that it was time for Andrew Titley to step into the role as director of Siegel International, and we made that announcement a few weeks ago.

I had hoped Charles would continue to guide clients through the sale process with the Siegel troop making everything go smoothly and successfully. I just received an email from Charles, informing me that he is moving on from Siegel. I do not know more than that as I write this, but I wish him well.

All communication intended for Charles should be sent to me or to Andrew. We have an exciting sale season ahead. The players may change, but life continues.

Regards,
Scott Trepel

I received the same email myself and was intrigued by the possibilities of what may have transpired on the one hand, but on the other, not so surprised since over the years, Charles seemed to move around quite a bit. Resigning via email while Scott was out of country is quite the blindside move. It'll be interesting to see where and when Charles surfaces and I'm positive the powerhouse that Siegel is will have them continuing to prosper without him.
I went for a visit to the Frajola board expecting a bunch of comments from the many Siegel clients there and was surprised to find not a peep.

Kick off a conversation or stir the pot? Seems to me the second.

Nah. It's stir the pot. And you've had no bites, so time to move on.

Could Charles' departure from Siegel's be related to Scott's resignation from the APS over Boston 2026?

Edited for one of these: '

Is Shreve going to write an autobiography? The little fragments of his life published online make him sound quite interesting.

I use 'quite interesting' in the British English sense here

The man is 72, and just might want to retire and and enjoy himself.

What an amazing power you possess, able to determine someone else's intent, someone you've never even met, through a message board post. Bravo. Perhaps opening up a booth at Playland displaying your clairvoyance could become a lucrative proposition for you.

My posts were simply to try and stimulate some discussion on the topic, kinda like some of the posts that followed your most recent. Why no discussion started on the Frajola board, where many clients and friends of Seigel's participate, somewhat surprises me, although their being clients/friends may exactly be why there have been no comments.

There have been many. In the past I went to the trouble to include them here but every Boston thread got locked due to someone's or some peoples' of topic political bull leavings. Not looking at you revcollector, just looking a somewhere behind or near you.

Edit to add:
Some information can be found here: https://goscf.com/t/91705

Personally, I do not find the remarks made there to be particularly helpful in understand WHY this occurred. And there seems to be a lot of "splitting hairs" about what some of the rules actually say and mean. Plus calling further discussion "a waste of time" is also to me, incorrect. Further discussion keeps the problem on the front burner, which helps the possibility of it not happening again. The fact that everyone is powerless to change anything also shows a fundamental weakness in the whole process. It enables this kind of sham to occur, and it will again unless something is done to make it much more difficult. I would love to know exactly why no one thought it prudent to speak up about this at the time, but that is never going to happen.

And I was always positive about Boston on those threads before the show, the negativity came from elsewhere.
