Landoquakes ----- Thinking that it could be a hard sell because of what I see in the pictures .
There is as you said a lack of "highlights " in the scans ,then the description of a lot of duplicate albums ,then stock pages of more duplicates , also extra W.W. albums so we are getting closer to a W.W. accumulation than a collection .

250k views, that is a major accomplishment! I enjoy your thread and am thinking 330k or whatever your current count is would certainly be achieveable. In other words having the view count keeping up with your stamp count.
And no, I'm not shamelessly bumping my own post count so as to achieve the golden trophy. I actually have fundamental questions about counting stamps.
Basically, why did you start counting to begin with? How many stamps did you have when you first counted? How tedious is it to maintain your count? I assume based on the title of your thread a block of four counts as a single stamp at least in terms of being all different. Yet perhaps you have a separate distinct and total counts.
That's about it. I'm contemplating a count myself but have plenty to do without another task and am nervous wrt maintaining the count and that becoming all consuming and potentially distracting from the joy of collecting.
Keep posting your work its appreciated.

T hanks GT350 ANNY .
To answer your question about a count of all different stamps ,has been a separate subject of interest of mine for many years . I believe that number 330,000 is over 5 years old ,so I will be doing a new count in a few years but it will be different ,different meaning a indepedent party doing the count that will not be questioned . My count was not done in the usual way page by page . My oldest daughter is a gad. of Stanford University with a MBA . She told me if you got 226 binders/albums then take every 8th book and count them and be honest about it ,you can come within 95% of the total for a net total .
Since that was a old count , I will do a new count in the near future . My first count was around 1200 . I used the old H.E.Harris catalog around 1965 to value my collection ,they had a page in their little catalog with stamps for sale at 500 stamps for $15.00 1,000 stamps for $25.00 and a huge 30,000 for $150.00 . That was my way of figureing value . |
