Value Question: Full Sheet, Austria Scott # 840A-H, Issued 5'24'1969.

I am about to list this on ebay - any thought as to what someone or a club might pay for it? CV for each pane $USD4.75. Just curious - TIA.

The value to a buyer is based upon total price, item AND shipping plus any sales tax. Safe reinforced flat shipping at First Class will be near $5 with out tracking. Anything else will greatly jump the shipping costs to well beyond the value of the sheet.

I don't see the item selling for more than $4.00 net plus all the other fixed costs at untracked first class. After you pay you required seller expenses, you could make as much as $2.00 for this, that will be nearly 50 cents per hour for your time.

Now if you do not place any value on your time and believe in taking a gambol, list it and see. You loss should be more than a dollar or two and your unvalued time.

Do you have other Austrian material that could accompany it? And can you gently fold the sheet along the perforations? Together, that could make up a lot worth listing.

There is a sheet listed on ebay.com for 36 dollars that has been folded previously- it shows!

Taking into account my recent experiences with the post office it is a gamble as to whether or not the sheet would ever survive intact. I wouldn't put my money on it arriving as it left.

You might try offering this to buyers only with United States addresses.

Ship it in a tube. Do not fold it. And have your postage (first-class?) figured out before you list it for sale.

I would not fold. Rolling in a large enough diameter tube to prevent softening the perforation would take the item well out of the size limits of first class and place it squarely into priority package pricing.




Flightle_Bee it is fine to mention a listing by title and/or ebay number. Also posting a shot of the listing is fine (and better) as it will not become unavailable after 60 or 90 days.

Can you ID the listing please. My prior searches only brought up two panes, no sheets. They have been listed for $7.50 and $5.00 for many months, prices include postage. The were no sales during the past 90 days. My search was "Austria Scott # 840A-H" on ebay. Edit: I did not mention that in my first post as I believe folks like the OP should have to do some basic market work on their own.

Edit: Bee, still did not find your $36 listing. Also in the last 90 days only one was sold at the same price by the same seller also folded.
