You might have a point there. It is difficult to say anything about actual dimensions and the photograph has been taken at an angle. However, the proportion of margins appear similar. If that can be taken as a sign they are of the same width, there is a difference in the number of horizontal perforations.

But that still leaves the possibility two perforators were used in the production process.

It looks like a Werner replica all dirtied up.. they are basically printed on card stock, it pops up from the paper if glued to some old cover, to the touch they feel really thick.

It's very unfortunate the buyer was deceived by such a forgery.

Below is an example from a similar replica, I think they were printed in the Czech Republic.

Jairo: The Werner's replica you show has 15 horizontal perforation holes vs. 19 in the forgery on cover and 16 in the genuine stamp. So they must have used another replica. There are many around off course.

And just for fun .... what about the air mail label?

8 f. was the basic weight letter inland letter rate in 1968 (1955 to 1990 rate period in PR China).
Inland air mail required extra 2 f. per 10g (1958 to 1990 rate period in PR China).

So my guess is: somebody removed a 10 f. small size definitive from an otherwise OK inland airmail cover and mounted the large fake over it, covering remainders of the original postmark.
The "postmark" seen now is also a fake. These are easily to procure and sold outside large stamp fairs with complete sets of date inserts. Nobody cares.

The clumsy faker did not care for the air mail label.
