Vila, NEW HEBRIDES

With a blue postmark on a blue colored stamp, I subject the stamp to confirm that New Hebrides and Vila appeared in the postmark using ImageSleuth. The dual currency stamp was first issued in 1925 and appears in the StampWorld catalogue as #92


1901
St. Louis, US

The ten-cent stamp was issued in 1901 for the Pan American Exposition

The stamp is #6 (SW) first issued in 1880. The year date on the stamp is difficult to read but after subjecting it to ImageSleuth it appears to be postmarked 26 years after the series to which it belongs, first appeared.


1916
Ile Rouad

The date on the stamp is quite clear but the overprint shown is not listed in StampWorld.com There is a two-piastre on 50-centimes Levant stamp similar to what you see but the overprint of the name runs horizontally across the stamp.

The postage dues of Newfoundland were first issued in 1939. In the StampWorld catalogue this is postage due #1.



1912
Port Moresby, Papua

Another denomination in the series seen earlier of Papua official stamps. In the StampWorld online catalogue this is number 28.

Wau, New Guinea

1939 Plane over Bulolo Goldfield, the half-penny is number 94 (SW).



1922
Nandi Island, Fiji
This one-shilling stamp is number 76 (SW).

The Valley, Anguilla

The StampWorld catalogue number is 16.

StampWorld lists this stamp, an overprint of the first issue for The Territory of New Guinea, as number 15 and it was issued in 1931.

Albay, Philippines, (Provincial Capitol)


The two stamps shown were issued in 1958. The semi-postal shows Manuel Quezon and the institute named after him. It is tax stamp number one in the StampWorld online catalogue. The other stamp was issued for the inauguration of the Manila Cathedral. The original was destroyed in WWII. Ironically, the stamp was printed in Japan.

British forces captured the German Colony in the first year of WWI.
This is a three-pfenning Kaiser's yacht issue overprinted half-penny.
This stamp is overprinted G.R.I, instead of the normal G.R.I.

Postmarked at Valparaiso. The fifty-centavos stamp shows Christopher Columbus. The series from which the stamp comes was first issued in 1878. The assigned catalogue number is #27 (SW) and #65 (SG). The stamp is rouletted 8½.



1886
Gabon

Postmarked at Libreville.The stamp shown is a 25-centime surcharge on a 20-centime French Colonies postage stamp. The series was first issued in 1886.In addition to the surcharge, the stamps is handstamp overprinted "GAB". It is assigned the catalogue #3 by both StampWorld.com and Scott's.

Postmarked at Savu Savu East.
StampWorld has assigned # 96 to this one-shilling George V postage stamp first issued in 1922.
