Considering that 10A was added to the catalogs relatively recently (2008?) the PF would have called that a #10 in 1985 when your certificate was issued, even if now it is known as a 10A.

Plating AI says it is a 10A position 9L1e with a score of .839, or an 11A with a score of .833, or in 3rd place a 10A position 9L1i with a score of .827 and so if the PF is correct that it is a 10 family not an 11 family then 10A position 9L1 appears to be the consensus. (Did you come about 9L1e on your own or did you use Plate AI? if the latter, then my running the same tool does not confirm the consensus).

Regarding EKU, for clarification, it is not an EKU for 10A (which was July 1, 1851). It is described as the earliest known use of any postage stamp in Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory, which is still pretty cool.

Fort Washita - with an OB 3c is a terrific postal usage, congrats.
I do not know if the EDU still stands for this I.T. but its early and very cool.

ZEBRAMAN- I did use AI for the position, I know scott didnt have (A) until 2008
so the 1985 is correct. the color and impression is beautiful
I love this cover. As for EKU that was for the Territory usage, as the Helbock
scarcity index of 7 and less then 4 possibly known with the manuscript.
I think the others would be stampless. It presents very well.

Txstamp- Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate from all of you the help and
support.

PS. The JWM (Milgram) Handstamp is cool on the back with the pencil notations.

Hi Phade --

Your stamp on the Indian Territorial cover is confirmed as position 9L1E.

Despite the somewhat surface worn impression -- the stamp is definitely position 9L1 -- and has to be Early state since it is a B relief (as position 9L1 on the Intermediate state of the plate is a misplaced A relief).

Not that it means anything -- but plate 1E was the very first plate from which the #10/10A stamps were printed -- and was in use for a very, very short period of time before it was re-entered to become plate 1i. Consequently we don't see too many stamps from plate 1E used in early 1852. Still, a contemporaneous usage -- just starting to get a little late for plate 1E.

Echoing what txstamp said -- nice Indian Territorial cover -- congrats !!
